About COBI
The Concorde is a supersonic turbojet passenger plane. It was a product of the idea of supersonic transport realized by companies from France and Great Britain operating in concert. It was flown for the first time in 1969. Seven years later it was introduced to the world for 27 years of service. The Concorde flew mostly on Transatlantic routes. From London Heathrow (British Airways) and Paris Charles de Gaulle (Air France) to JFK airport in New York and Dulles in Washington. It reached record speeds; the flight lasted about half as much as with traditional planes. Only 20 planes were produced due to high production costs and expensive operations. The last Concorde flight took place on November 26, 2003. This model made of COBI construction blocks presents the Concorde G-BBDG supersonic passenger plane.
COBI was founded in April 1987, starting from the production of puzzles and board games. In 1991 in Jozefow near Warsaw a tool department was established, in 1992 the production of COBI plastic construction blocks started in Warsaw. In the same year the COBERT Company was established, producing injection moulds. COBI is a Polish manufacturer of high quality construction blocks manufactured in its own production facility in the Special Economic Zone in Mielec. The construction blocks are manufactured from the high quality European raw materials. COBI is also provider of a wide range of toys, such as: interactive toys, creative sets, educational and strategy games, dolls, action figures, plastic models for gluing and folding and many others.
